Luis Alexandre Ribeiro Branco

Luis Ribeiro Alexander Branco, was born in the city of Petrópolis, RJ, Brazil. He is married, a father, a poet and a clergyman. He has a Degree in Biblical Studies and Theology, a Master Degree in Church Administration and Leadership, a Doctor Degree in Ministry and is actually pursuing a Doctorate in Philosophy, he is a member of the Society of Christian Philosophers, and member of the Sociedade Brasileira dos Poetas Aldravianistas, he is affiliated with the Mission Board of the National Baptist Convention, having served in several countries gave him the prerogative of a major cross-cultural experience; His theology is reformed, as a poet, he has a melancholy style.

He is a humanist characterized by the idea that man gets his true essence in the knowledge of God. His work is composed of serving as a resident pastor, a scholar in seminary and writing articles and volumes on several subjects. He lives in Lisbon with his folk and have published books on spirituality, theology, philosophy and anthology.

Abandonment

I always want to just abandon me like somebody who has lost all battles.

No, I do not mind being a looser,

I simply wish to be free from all anxiety and pain.

Throw myself shamelessly in green grass

Feel the touch in my skin from the limbs and flowers.

Feel the earth, the limitations of my fall and horror.

I want to abandon myself amid the undergrowth.

Feel the gentle blowing of the wind that touches the ground Have a tight view of ants and crickets that live in a macrocosm of a vain anonymity.

I want to descend in a free-fall like someone who just has to relinquish all the weapons.

I’m tired of fighting, there is so much force to apprehend,

Since that at the conclusion we all have lost for life.

I recognized that losing is inevitable,

But worse than losing is falling in not find joy in the fall.

I recognize that I sound crazy, but what does it matter? I want to reconcile myself to the fragility and the banality of life. Burn all my shirts with heroic phrases.

I bid to be surrendered to the emptiness and be at the disposal of all.

Gave up on the floor I want to be nameless,

There are so many who live without a name and are happy.

Be just another insignificant being sharing that space with ants and crickets.

I will delete all triumphalist

Adopting a simple vocabulary,

Change my Septuagint by a Vulgate.

Want to face the sun upright

Look at the blueprints of the clouds,

Contemplate the gentle flight of birds.

I want to immortalize this moment of abandonment,

Forget the hours and duties,

Feel truly light, as somebody who has nothing to lose or gain.

I want to feel for a moment as if I were the only one of my kind,

Without the worry of having to reply to others or explain anything.

And after redone, this beautiful waking dreams.

Women´s Face

Your face expresses a simple majesty,

Your look is that of a captive princess,

Your lips have a slight smile and

This shows your glory of being a woman.

A mysterious woman lives within you,

A connoisseur of the secrets of the woman’s life shines in your face,

A sweet and strong woman, independent and yet weak,

A mystical and desirable woman.

I see in you the appetite of men,

I see in you the beauty of a black rose,

I see in you unknown mysteries,

I see in you a woman and her secret.

Freedom

Every soul yearns for freedom,

A freedom with which modern humanity committed.

A freedom that a few centuries ago had not even imagined.

A freedom of going, coming, thinking, believing following, giving up,

Anyway, a freedom not seen, worthy of the human being.

Every soul yearns trap,

A mad desire to keep captives all others that is similar or dissimilar to us.

We hallucinated imagine a prison as good and pleasant,

A prison for women, children, poor and weak through inhibition of their rights,

A prison to another of another faith, another frontier of another color,

Anyway, a prison that only interests us, the tyrants.

Every soul yearns to break free,

A liberation from the tyranny of men and their political and religious perversions.

A release of another that inhibits us, frightens us and threatens us,

A complete liberation of body, soul and spirit.

Anyway, a release that enables us to us to be ourselves.

Every soul yearns self-liberate themselves,

A self-liberation from the tyranny of fear, shame and weakness.

A self-liberation of the self narcissistic and mental sickness,

A self-liberation from evil desires, vices, the defects and psychoses.

Anyway, a self-release of ourselves.

Every soul should yearns to be a deliverer,

A liberator from suffering, from hunger, from cold and from thirst.

A liberator of those that are despised, rejected and excluded,

A deliverer of all forms of imprisonment, interior and exterior.

Anyway, a deliverer of our equals, which is precisely the one different us.
