Marco Carrer was born in Treviso on December 11, 2000. At the age of one, he was struck by a virus that he fortunately managed to defeat but which, having affected his hips, caused him severe walking dysfunctions. The damage caused by the virus seemed irreversible to the hospital doctors, but thanks to the help of an osteopath, he managed to walk correctly again. At three and a half years old, on the advice of the osteopath to best continue his therapy, Marco began taking classical dance lessons. At 16, he was chosen to study in Moscow at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy, where he remained for three years before completing his studies at the European School of Ballet in Amsterdam. After graduation, he danced as a demi-soloist for the Israel Ballet and as a dancer for the Croatian National Ballet. Since 2025, he has been a principal dancer with the balletXtreme dance company and also artistic manager of the company, while also continuing to work as an international guest artist and choreographer. His story of resilience—of a boy who was not destined to walk and who instead, against all odds, became a professional dancer—continues to inspire both younger and older generations, told in newspaper articles and on television programs where he appears as a guest.

It was in Moscow that he began to dedicate himself to poetic production. In the first two years alone, in addition to publishing his first book and appearing in international magazines, he began to receive several awards, including: an honorable mention at the Bologna Writers' Festival, third prize in the international free poetry category of the Premio Giovanni Bertacchi, and he was among the winners of the National Prize for Contemporary Italian Literature. On July 2, 2020, he was awarded the "Steel Cross of the World Union of Poets for Dance." Marco Carrer was proclaimed "Censor" of the World Union of Poets in 2024. Marco is also a co-founder of WikiPoesia, a member of the international movement "Poetas del Mundo" and in February 2024, with his second collection "Strano amore," he was among the finalists for the Mario Luzi Prize and won the Panorama Golden Book Awards. Carrer has also been a guest of some of the most important cultural and literary associations, such as the Italian Cultural Institute of Tel Aviv, the Dante Alighieri Society of Split, the FLAL (Festival de literatura y artes literárias), and the Rotary Club of Latin America. In October 2025, thanks again to the book “Strano amore,” Marco received literary recognition in Baiano from the cultural association “Mente Cuore” as one of the most appreciated authors of the year.
