The Flea market
1
hawking happiness and unhappiness
on the cheap little by little
on the way picking up second-hand sentiments
weighed roughly by hand
heavy as excuses in making mistakes
2
bargaining for every cent
got a grandiose second-rate romance
the seller said
second-hand fleas wriggling
with the high-class balm of jealousy thrown in
works wonders in a flash

It’s Too Late Sonata
—Night in the Study
I am a blank sheet of paper
quietly working through the night
in a holy land pregnant with meaning and trimmed bindings
prostrate, praying, listening
to the booming concert of minute and second hands
my … probation
I am a white guelder rose
blossoming out of the waste-paper basket in the night
in the gaze of heteroglossia
looking around (to become a bride) with her bridal bouquet
the printer without toner
rushing to deliver me to the typesetter

“Cogito Ergo Sum”
The meandering sunset is aging.
I wake up barren, silent, in middle age,
spring up to
lean from my rancid dead body into another
neither jealousy nor unkind,
just a garish corpse
able to wait, act, be agitated
more than when alive.
I’m off
to buy an expensive highlighter
to gradually light up the important points of my life.
So I am not here.
