Some day when my eyes will close on life, My laughter will be heard no more. Ringing through the wandering wind; The smile and kisses, that I kept for you, Will no more be seen or touch your face. Our whispering words of love Will loosen their hold on time, Drifting weightless, floating in the universe. like stardust through the dark. The songs, that I sang with you, Will be heard no more; The dance, that I danced with you, Will be missed on the dance floor. No more fireflies will fly for me. Mournful dirges, birds will sing. I will lie, in the ghostly silence of the silent grave. Long after we are gone, Years will turn to centuries; Centuries to legend and dust. And all else will fade into the dark, One thing, my love, will not depart. The poems I wrote only for you Will breathe where I no longer can. From pages of history will be sung Our poetry forever.
