Michael Mwangi Macharia is a prolific poet who was born and raised in Nakuru county of the expansive Rift Valley in Kenya.He is a graduate of Moi University .He was anthologized in Echoes Across the Valley and has published in online journals.He also contributes articles in Saturday Nation.He also has interest in photography, fine arts,music,drama and dance.He is associated with a private publisher and has edited a few manuscripts.

Interspersed with human voices;
They seems exotic
In their colored T-shirts
Fussing like bees in a hive
Flags waving from the stands
Of the faraway arenas
These diehard fans
Adoring and adorable crowd,
Spiritually engaged to the North
Sharing a common humanity
Physical frontiers that separated dissolved
By souls that dwell on one earth...

THE MAGIC OF POETRY

When Ideas and words acquire wings
Light like dry leaf or feather
You float among clouds
You dwell among the stars
You sit on the blazing sun
As you weave song of laughter;
There are cheers in the breeze
You can hear the wind sing
When the echoes from the soul
Traverse the entire universe
Bearing message from mystic realms...

THE ARCH IN THE SKY

A mixture of colors
Upon a grey background
That captures the eye
And make us silently sigh
Filled with renewed hope
A feeling that perhaps
This existence wasn't meant
To be such a pain
In the struggle to gain
That often seems vain,
So perhaps we need to pause
And marvel at the magic of nature.
