Biography
Emmanuel Marete is a Kenyan-American poet and student based in Columbus, Ohio. His work explores adolescent mental health, identity, and resilience, often blending emotional introspection with structural clarity.
At fourteen, he published his debut poetry collection, Dawn to Dust – Echoes of a Wounded Soul, a reflective exploration of teenage emotional landscapes. The book was officially launched on June 28, 2025, and featured in Kenya’s Daily Nation. His poetry has since appeared in international anthologies including Global Verses, Collective Peace, and Africa Redefined, with works published in both English and Spanish.
Beyond the page, Emmanuel views poetry as advocacy — a means of expanding conversations around youth mental health and emotional literacy. Alongside his literary pursuits, he maintains a strong interest in mathematics, engineering, and systems thinking, disciplines that inform his belief that both art and logic can be tools for meaningful change.

Buried deep inside the awful, scornful words
Remorseful, bitter spirits lie
Screaming desperately for
Resourceful yet thoughtful ...

The demon’s homestead demolished
The devil’s resting place crushed
And the Holy Spirit’s unclean temple finally brought down.
You call it ...

LET GO
Let go! Let go! Let go!
I have to let them go
So that I can have space to grow,
Polish my edges and have a new glow.

But how do I let them go?
When ....
my mind their praises, blows.
My soul, their presence seeks
And my heart bleeds
Questioning why I just wasn't good enough.

Wo ...
