In celebration of the Jordanian city of Petra becoming one of the Wonders of the World, I would like you to publish the attached poem that I have written. The poem is entitled The Bride Named Petra. I also attach a picture of the rose city of Petra to be published with the poem.

The Bride Named Petra

She defeated time
Patiently without struggle

She denied it right
To her Bedouin rosy cheeks

She can bring to life
All that falls under her spell

The wind starts to sing
When he swirls around her feet

And stones come to life
When she casts her light in glow

Be ware well wishers!
For she casts a strong spell

The memory of her
Ageless rosy face aglow

Will bind you to her
As once did your mother’s cord

You’ll come back again
Missing that oneness with her

The reeling you’ll feel
Under her immortal soul

Will surge through your heart
So like an act of pure love
