A new communication tool for a poetic community present in more than 140 countries
After more than twenty years of history, Poetas del Mundo is entering a new stage in its international communication with the launch of its Blog, a new space connected to the organization’s official platform.
Integrated into poetasdelmundo.com, the new blog has a clear mission: to share what is happening within the Movement and to allow the voices of its poets to travel far beyond the borders of their own countries.
It is not simply about adding another section to the platform.
In a way, it means opening a permanent window to the world.
A platform that needed to tell its own story
Poetas del Mundo was founded in Valparaíso, Chile, on October 14, 2005, by Chilean poet Luis Arias Manzo, with an idea that seemed ambitious from the very beginning: to build an international community of poets committed to peace, fraternity among peoples, and the preservation of the environment.
Over the years, thousands of writers and poets from different cultures, languages, and continents have become part of this community.
But an international organization of this scale needs more than a platform where every poet has their own space.
It needs memory.
It needs information.
It needs to tell its stories.
It needs to show what its members are doing in different parts of the world.
And above all, it needs a poet in Africa to be able to discover what another poet is doing in the Americas; a writer in Asia to learn about a cultural activity taking place in Europe; an initiative born in Chile to reach the Arab world; or an encounter held in Italy to reach thousands of readers on other continents.
That is the space the new Poetas del Mundo Blog seeks to create.
A new dimension for the platform
The main Poetas del Mundo platform provides a space where members can maintain their presence within the organization and establish connections with other poets.
The blog complements that function.
Its purpose is to bring together news, reports, interviews, chronicles, encounters, cultural activities, reflections, and events related to poets and to the Movement.
In this way, the platform is progressively becoming more than simply a meeting place for members. It is evolving into a true space for international cultural communication.
The blog already features a structure organized by continents: Africa, the Americas, the Arab World, Asia, Europe, and Oceania, as well as language categories and a section dedicated to authors.
Poetry also needs communication
We live in an age in which information travels at extraordinary speed.
A poetry gathering can take place in one city today and become known on another continent tomorrow.
A reading, an interview, a book, a cultural initiative, or a poet’s project can become a shared experience for people thousands of kilometers apart.
That is why, for Poetas del Mundo, communication is also part of its mission.
Poetry cannot remain locked inside a book.
Nor can it be confined to the room where a reading takes place.
It must circulate.
It must encounter other voices.
It must engage in dialogue with other cultures.
And it must leave a record.
The blog was born precisely to help build that memory.
A truly international blog
One of the defining characteristics of this new space will be its multilingual vocation.
The current structure already includes publications and categories in Spanish, English, French, Portuguese, and Arabic, together with content organized by continent.
The intention is to continue expanding this international dimension progressively.
Because an organization that brings together poets from more than 140 countries cannot communicate through only one language.
Linguistic diversity is part of our identity.
Each language represents a different way of seeing the world, naming things, and expressing human feelings.
The blog seeks to allow that diversity to coexist in one shared space.
From recovery to rebirth
This project takes on a special meaning following the reconstruction process that Poetas del Mundo has experienced.
The organization went through one of the most difficult crises in its history when its former platform disappeared along with a fundamental part of its archives and digital memory.
The recovery of those archives made it possible to begin a reconstruction process that culminated in the launch of a new platform on March 21, 2026, World Poetry Day.
Now, only a few months later, this new communication space is emerging.
That is why the blog represents much more than a technological tool.
It is part of the rebirth of Poetas del Mundo.
The recovery of its memory, the new platform, the international reorganization, and now the blog are all parts of the same process: rebuilding, strengthening, and projecting into the future a community that was born more than two decades ago.
A memory built every day
In the future, this blog will also become a living archive of the history of the Movement.
Here, activities held in different countries, international encounters, the voices of poets, cultural initiatives, collective projects, and the events that shape the history of Poetas del Mundo day by day can be recorded and preserved.
The II International Gathering held in Italy in June 2026, for example, will not simply remain a memory for those who participated.
Its chronicles, photographs, testimonies, and experiences can remain as part of the collective memory of the Movement.
The same will happen with the upcoming XX International Gathering of Poetas del Mundo in Chile, “Following in the Poet’s Footsteps,” which will take place from November 13 to 22, 2026.
Every gathering, every country, and every poet has a story to tell.
And now there is a place to tell it.
The word as a bridge
The birth of this blog comes at a particularly important moment for the Movement.
After twenty years of existence, Poetas del Mundo faces the challenge of reaching a new generation and embracing new forms of communication.
Technology changes.
Platforms change.
The ways in which we communicate change.
But the fundamental reason that gave birth to the organization remains.
The need to meet.
On a planet marked by wars, conflicts, inequalities, environmental crises, and deep divisions, poetry may seem small in the face of the magnitude of these problems.
But precisely there lies its strength.
A poem cannot stop a war.
A reading cannot solve a climate crisis.
A single word cannot eliminate an injustice.
But poetry can do something essential: remind us that behind all these realities there are human beings.
And when one person is able to recognize another as a fellow human being, the possibility of dialogue begins to emerge.
A new stage begins
The Poetas del Mundo Blog is being born.
There is still much to build, correct, improve, and expand.
But the essential work is already underway.
From now on, the news and experiences of poets can travel from continent to continent and be recorded in a shared space.
The new platform provides the territory.
The blog begins to build the memory.
And the poets will provide the stories.
Because after more than twenty years, Poetas del Mundo does not want merely to preserve its past: it wants to continue writing its future.
A new stage begins.
A stage in which every poet, every country, every gathering, and every word can become part of the same universal story.
Because poetry knows no borders.
