Luis Arias Manzo

Melipilla, Chile, 1956. Founder and Secretary General of the Poets of the World movement. He was forced to leave the country in March 1975 and returned to Chile only in February 1991. He spent his last 12 years of exile in France. He is the author of the Universal Manifesto of Poets of the World (translated into 28 languages). Five of his books have been published: Agualuna (2002), Mil años de Amor (2003), Instantes (2004), Dos Tiempos para un Compás (2016). In his first three works, the conflict between materialism and spirituality emerges. In 2021, he published his fifth book, Manifesto for Life (Adapted to New Times and the Demanding Challenges of Our Era), a work intended as a contribution to the discussion during Chile’s process of drafting a new constitution. He has participated in literary events in Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas.
