ITALY-Ferreira: Poets of the world in their eagerness to go to every corner of the planet, is organizing their first meeting in Italy:  "Now in the north", as it intends to organize other meetings in other regions of the country for the following years. The event will have as main cede the city of Ferreira, from there we go to other cities, such as Venice, Florence, Verona, Padua, Mantua, Rovigo, Bologna and Bondeno, in all these places we will have readings of poetry, exchanges with poets, Local artists and authorities, visits to tourist-cultural attractions, etc. This is, without a doubt, the best way to get to know a country, to make our poetry known, etc... Our national secretary of Italy, the poet Stefano Maanti awaits us, we thank you for your dedication!


Friday, September 6th (1st day)

Arrival, accreditation and installation in Hotel in Ferrara.

Ferrara is a city of the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna known for the buildings that ordered to build their rulers, the Renaissance family of the east. One of these outstanding monuments is the castle of the east, with moat and luxurious dependencies. The family also ordered to lift the Palazzo dei Diamanti, named for the diamond-shaped marble blocks of the façade, which now houses the national Pinacoteca. Ferrara's Romanesque cathedral has a three-level façade and a marble belfry.

20:00 = Welcome Dinner with authorities, local poets, etc...

Saturday, September 7th (2nd day)

09:00 = Visit of the city of Ferrara and reception of the poets in the municipality of Ferrara

13:00 = Lunch

15:00 = Exit to Rovigo

Rovigo is an Italian municipality of 50,883 inhabitants in the homonymous province of the Veneto region. The inhabitants are called Rodigini, but some dictionaries of Italian accept also the inhabitant Rovigotti.

15:30 – 19:00 = various activities in Rovigo

20:00 = Dinner

Sunday 8th September (3rd day)

08:30 = Departure to Mantua.

Mantua is a city surrounded by 3 artificial lakes to the north of the Italian region of Lombardy. It is famous for the architectural legacy of the Gonzaga Renaissance rulers, who built the Ducal Palace. This imposing building houses the house of husbands, decorated with frescoes by Andrea Mantegna. The Gonzagas also built the tea palace, known for the Giants ' room, where each surface is painted with mythological scenes.

10:00 – 13:00 = visit to the historic center of the city.

13:00 = Lunch

Afternoon = visits to institutions or just sightseeing.

18:00 = meeting with local poets and artists. Dinner

21:00 = return to Ferrara.

Monday, September 9th (4th day)

08:30 = Departure to Florence.

Florence is a city located in the north of the central region of Italy, capital and more populated city of the homonymous metropolitan city and the region of Tuscany, of which is its historical, artistic, economic and administrative center

10:30 = installation instead of hosting

12:30 = Lunch

14:00 – 18:00 = City Tour

20:00 = poetic encounter with local poets and artists. Dinner

Night in Florence.


Tuesday, September 10th (5th day)

09:00 – 13:00 = visit to museums and cultural places

13:00 = Lunch

14:30 = Departure to Bologna.

Bologna is a city of Italy, capital of the homonymous metropolitan city and of the region Emilia-Romagna, located between the river Reno and the river of the Bivena, near the Apennines. It is one of the best preserved historic cities and has the second largest medieval old town in Europe, after Venice.

15:30 = Visit of the medieval old town of Bologna.

19:00 = poetic-cultural act with local poets and artists. Dinner

21:00 = Departure to Ferrara.

Night in Ferrara.


Wednesday, September 11th (6th day)

09:00 = Exit to Bondero.

Bondeno is a municipality located in the territory of the province of Ferrara, in Emilia-Romagna. The frazioni of the municipality of Bondeno are: Scortichino, Gavello, Pilastri di Bondeno, Burana, Stellata, Zerbinate, Salvatonica, Settepolesini, Ponte Rodoni, Santa Bianca and my own.

09:30-13:00 visits and activities in Bondero,

13:00 = Bondero.

15:00 – 18:00 = various activities in Ferrara

20:00 = dinner and reading in Ferrara with local artists and poets.

Thursday, September 12th (7th day)

9:00 = Departure to Padua.

Padua is a city in the Veneto region, in northern Italy. It is known for the frescoes of Giotto in the chapel of the Scrovegni, erected in 1303-05, and by the Great Basilica of San Antonio, dating from the 13TH century. The basilica, with its Byzantine-style cupolas and outstanding works of art, houses the tomb of the saint of the same name. In the old town of Padua there are streets with arcades and elegant cafés frequented by students of the University of Padua, founded in 1222.

10:00 = installation instead of housing.

11:00 = Visit of the old town of Padua

13:00 = Lunch

15:00 = Visits to cultural and/or tourist institutions of Padua.

19:00 = Act with local poets and artists. Dinner

Friday, September 13th (8th Day)

8:00 = Departure to Venice.

Venice is a city located in the north-east of Italy. It is also the capital of the Venetian region and of the Province of Venice. Its historic centre, declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco, is located in a set of islands in the lagoon of Venice, in the North Adriatic Sea.

We spent the whole day in Venice.

19:00 = poetic activity in Venice with local poets and artists. Dinner.

21:00 = return to Padua.

Night in Padua.


Saturday, September 14th (9th Day)

9:00 = Departure to Verona.

Verona is a city located in the north-east of Italy, capital of the province of the same name, one of the seven provinces of the Veneto region. It is one of the most attractive and interesting cities in Italy, the twelfth in population of the country with 257,943 inhabitants.

10:00 = arrival to Verona. City view and tourist-cultural attractions.

13:00 = Lunch

14:30 = meeting with local poets and artists. Reading love poems in front of Juliet's balcony.

17:00 = return to Ferrara.

19:00 = installation instead of housing.

20:00 = Closing Ceremony of the event. Farewell dinner.

9:00 = breakfast in Ferrara.

Poets return to their respective countries.
