Valpara\u00edso (Chile): to build an international network of poets committed not only to literary creation, but also to peace, fraternity among peoples and the preservation of the planet.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<h2 data-start=\"724\" data-end=\"755\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Beginning_of_Twenty_Years_of_Poets_of_the_World\"><\/span><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The Beginning of Twenty Years of Poets of the World.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"757\" data-end=\"1204\">Over the years, that dream grew extraordinarily. During the first decade, hundreds of new members joined each year, reaching nearly a thousand new poets annually at certain times. Shortly before the pandemic, our organization brought together around 9,500 poets and writers from more than 140 countries, establishing itself as one of the largest international poetry networks in existence. Twenty Years of Poets of the World became a living network connecting poets across continents.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1206\" data-end=\"1254\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"But_every_story_has_its_difficult_moments\"><\/span><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">But every story has its difficult moments.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1256\" data-end=\"1536\">A few years ago, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.poetasdelmundo.com\/news\/english\/poets-of-the-world-20-years\"><strong data-start=\"656\" data-end=\"694\">Twenty Years of Poets of the World<\/strong><\/a> suffered a loss that seemed irreversible. Our website disappeared along with its entire database, built over fifteen years of work. Thousands of profiles, articles, photographs, manifestos, and documents appeared to have been lost forever.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1538\" data-end=\"1952\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">As if that weren&#8217;t enough, since August 2014 an old Facebook page for Poets of the World, with over forty thousand followers, has continued to circulate. It was hacked and remains beyond our control. Despite numerous efforts with Meta, it has not been possible to recover or remove it, causing profound confusion among our members and the public for years.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1954\" data-end=\"2007\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Many thought the Movement had disappeared.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2009\" data-end=\"2025\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">But it wasn&#8217;t like that.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2027\" data-end=\"2438\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Just when I was ready to accept the permanent loss of our historical files, I decided to make one last attempt. I contacted the professional who had developed our old platform again. The response arrived on <\/span><\/span><strong data-start=\"2262\" data-end=\"2289\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">November 25, 2025<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> , and completely changed the course of our story: the original database files had appeared on an old backup drive.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2440\" data-end=\"2505\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Then began a huge technological reconstruction effort to give <strong data-start=\"1128\" data-end=\"1166\">Twenty Years of Poets of the World<\/strong> a new digital home. For several months, a completely new, modern, bilingual platform was developed, ready to respond to the current needs of a truly international organization.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2507\" data-end=\"2699\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">For several months, a completely new, modern, bilingual platform was developed, ready to respond to the current needs of a truly international organization.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2701\" data-end=\"2911\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">On <\/span><\/span><strong data-start=\"2704\" data-end=\"2727\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">March 21, 2026<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> , coinciding with <\/span><\/span><strong data-start=\"2749\" data-end=\"2777\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unesco.org\/en\/days\/poetry-day?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">World Poetry Day<\/a> , we officially launched the new <\/span><\/span><\/strong><strong data-start=\"2827\" data-end=\"2847\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">World Poets<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> platform <\/span><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">, marking the beginning of a new stage for our Movement.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2913\" data-end=\"2968\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"But_the_renovation_was_not_limited_to_the_technological_aspect\"><\/span><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">But the renovation was not limited to the technological aspect.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2970\" data-end=\"3233\">During these months we have also strengthened the international presence of <strong data-start=\"1580\" data-end=\"1618\">Twenty Years of Poets of the World<\/strong>, reorganized our continental and national structures, incorporated new communication tools and opened spaces for more active participation of our members.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3235\" data-end=\"3633\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">One of these new spaces is the <\/span><\/span><strong data-start=\"3269\" data-end=\"3297\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">World Poets Blog<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> , recently launched on our official platform. From now on, news, reports, chronicles, interviews, and activities of the Movement will be published here and progressively translated into several languages, thus strengthening cultural exchange among our members from different continents.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3635\" data-end=\"3805\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The blog was created with a clear purpose: to become the living memory of the Movement and a permanent window to spread the work of our poets throughout the world.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"3807\" data-end=\"3861\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Twenty_Years_of_Poets_of_the_World_has_already_begun_to_bear_the_first_fruits_of_this_new_phase\"><\/span><strong data-start=\"1886\" data-end=\"1924\">Twenty Years of Poets of the World<\/strong> has already begun to bear the first fruits of this new phase.<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"3863\" data-end=\"4176\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">In June 2026, we successfully held the <\/span><\/span><strong data-start=\"3909\" data-end=\"3969\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">II International Meeting of World Poets in Italy<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"> , a cultural journey that brought together writers, artists and cultural managers from America, Europe and Africa for nine days on a tour through Rome, Florence, Bologna, Ferrara, Rovigo, Mestre and Venice.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4178\" data-end=\"4227\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">It was much more than a series of poetry readings.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4229\" data-end=\"4490\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">It was a demonstration that poetry is still capable of building bridges between cultures, generating friendship between people from different backgrounds, and reminding us that art can continue to be a tool for dialogue and hope in a deeply fragmented world.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"4492\" data-end=\"4532\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Today_Poets_of_the_World_continues_to_grow\"><\/span><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Today, Poets of the World continues to grow.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"4534\" data-end=\"4864\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The new platform allows each member to have their own space to share their work, strengthen ties between poets from different countries, and develop joint cultural projects. At the same time, we continue to promote a more active presence on social media and new mechanisms for international communication.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4866\" data-end=\"4968\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">We live in times marked by wars, climate crises, inequalities, and deep social fractures.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4970\" data-end=\"5045\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">That is precisely why we believe that poetic language remains necessary.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5047\" data-end=\"5271\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Not because poetry can solve humanity&#8217;s great problems on its own, but because it has the ability to awaken consciences, humanize dialogue, and remind us that behind every border there is a human being.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5273\" data-end=\"5366\">After twenty years, <strong data-start=\"2160\" data-end=\"2198\">Twenty Years of Poets of the World<\/strong> still believes in the same dream that gave rise to this Movement.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5368\" data-end=\"5527\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">A world where poetry is not only a literary act, but also an ethical commitment to life, to human dignity, and to the future of the planet.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5529\" data-end=\"5584\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The story of Poets of the World continues to be written.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5586\" data-end=\"5621\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span dir=\"auto\" style=\"vertical-align:
